THE RACE
The Cross Timbers Marathon Series
The Cross Timbers Marathon is a USATF-certified event set among the scenic countryside and rolling terrain of North Texas. As a signature race series, it offers multiple distances — Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K — designed to welcome runners of every experience level, from first-timers taking on their debut race to seasoned competitors chasing personal records. The event is built around a warm community atmosphere, attentive course support, and a distinctly local character that sets it apart from larger metropolitan races.
USATF certification means that the course has been precisely and independently measured to official standards, making your finish time eligible for use as a qualifying result — including Boston Qualifier consideration for the marathon distance. As a USATF-sanctioned event, all race operations are conducted under official road racing guidelines, ensuring fair competition and a credible, recognized result for every participant.

RULES & ETIQUETTE
Race Rules & Course Etiquette
USATF Rules
This event is conducted under USATF rules and regulations. All participants agree to abide by official USATF guidelines for road racing. Results are subject to USATF review.
Bib & Timing Chip
Bibs must be worn on the front of the outermost garment and must be visible at all times. Timing chips are affixed to the bib — do not fold, bend, or obstruct the chip. Transfer of bibs between participants is strictly prohibited.
Course Cutoffs
All participants must maintain pace sufficient to meet posted cutoff times at designated checkpoints. Runners who miss a cutoff may be directed off the course for safety reasons. Cutoff times are enforced.
Headphone Policy
Use of headphones or earbuds is permitted but strongly discouraged on course. If worn, at least one ear must remain uncovered at all times to maintain awareness of course marshals, vehicles, and other runners.
Course Etiquette
Runners must yield to faster participants. Pacing groups are available — stay to the right if walking or slowing. Littering outside of designated aid station drop zones may result in disqualification.
Strollers & Assistive Devices
Running strollers are permitted in the Half Marathon and 10K only, with prior registration. Assistive mobility devices are welcome on all courses — please contact the race director in advance for course accessibility details.
